Magdalena Štenclová, MA


Magdalena Štenclová is a PhD candidate in the Romance Languages programme at the Department of Romance Studies, Palacký University Olomouc (Czech Republic). She earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Spanish Philology from Palacký University and subsequently completed a master’s degree in Political Science with a specialisation in Latin America at the University of Hradec Králové (Czech Republic). Throughout her studies, she completed three semester-long international study  placements: an Erasmus+ exchange at the University of Granada, Spain (2021–2022), a study placement at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (2023–2024), and an Erasmus+ exchange at the University of Málaga, Spain (2024–2025).
Her research interests include pragmatics, translation studies, and interdisciplinary topics bridging linguistics, political science, and Latin American studies. In her Master's thesis, she explored the automatic translation of forms of address between Czech and Spanish, focusing on the pragmatic distinctions and morphosyntactic features that significantly influence translation quality.
Within the NAIMES project, she works on the Czech–Spanish language pair.
