The supervisor of NAIMES, Prof Enrique Gutiérrez Rubio, is one of the few Spanish-speaking scholars worldwide specialising in Czech linguistics and its intersection with machine translation. A graduate in Slavic and German Studies, he is the director of the Department of Romance Languages at Palacký University Olomouc (Czech Republic).
Prof Enrique Gutiérrez Rubio is also the Editor-in-Chief of the humanities journal Romanica Olomucensia and former Associate Editor of De Gruyter’s Open Cultural Studies. He has published five monographs and more than 50 scientific articles in various academic journals and publications. Most of Gutiérrez's research is within the frameworks of cognitive linguistics, morphology, phraseology, and machine translation reception.
